The first online meeting of ERFAN working group on “Anthrax and Tuberculosis” is organized on 28 July 2020 to discuss the evaluation of sample processing and the labs biosafety levels, the state of art on the methods applied by the laboratories of the countries, the definition of the modality of distribution of the SOPs focused on the diagnostic methods for the detection of Bacillus anthracis and of other necessary SOPs for the laboratories working on anthrax, the future potential organization of a ring trial for the detection of Bacilllus anthracis, the trainings on isolation of Bacillus anthracis, isolation of spores from soil, detection by molecular methods, genotyping of Bacillus anthracis strains, biosafety procedures, molecular Biology PCR and the research project proposals.
Delegates from Italy, Republic of South Africa, Tanzania and Zimbabwe will be joining in the debate.
